In Nimmo Planner, you decide where, when, and for whom the transport service should operate. Here we explain what a route is and what options you have when setting it up.
A route is the foundation of your transport service. In the route, you decide
where the transport service should go
which stops should be included (on fixed routes)
which period the route should apply
how many passengers it can accommodate
whether the trip should be free or have a ticket price
how long before departure the travelers can book and the deadline for when they must book
whether the route should apply to a specific age group
We distinguish between two types of routes.
A regular route goes from A to B with specific stops along the way. It has either a fixed start time or a fixed arrival time. This is suitable, for example, when children need to go from school to practice and arrive by 3 PM.
A dynamic route has no fixed stops. It covers an area during specific "opening hours". Within the area and the opening hours, travellers can book trips freely between adresses or specific locations. This is suitable when travellers are going to different places in the area, for example a service route for the elderly that they can use to get to the doctor, the pharmacy, the food store, etc.
In the schedule you enter a start date and end date and which weekdays the route should be available. You can also add exceptions, for example during school holidays or public holidays.
Nimmo generates trips for each day the route is available. The travellers book their trips in the Nimmo app.
A regular route can have several daily departure times, for example at ten, twelve and two o'clock. You do not have to create one route for each departure time. This is time saving for you as a planner, and the travellers can easily see which trips are available.
We have already added bus stops, schools, sports facilities, cultural institutions and a lot more. You simply choose the stops in the map and add them to the route. If a stop is missing, you click in the map where the stop should be and give it a name.
