KGB dans & ballett in Sandvika wanted to give more children the opportunity to dance during after-school care hours. When taxi transport became a bottleneck, they started using Nimmo. A year later, KGB After School has grown from 12 to 57 students.
KGB After School is a program for students from 3rd to 6th grade one day a week during after-school hours, open to schools in the local area around Sandvika. Transportation has been included from the start, but the driving was done with taxis, was challenging to manage, and set a limit on how many students could participate. In spring 2025, there were 12 children participating.
When Nimmo had a meeting with Bærum municipality in spring 2024, Siri was spontaneously invited to the meeting. She thought the Nimmo concept sounded very positive and signed the agreement already in January 2025 – with a start in August.
On August 19, 2025, the first trip took place. With transportation providers TK Bussreiser and Asker og Bærum Taxibuss, 45 students were transported from four schools in Bærum to Sandvika.
“With Nimmo, both I, the drivers, and not least the parents have a much better overview. The guardians receive a notification in the app when the child is picked up and dropped off, which provides extra security,” says Siri Vestnes.
The routes are set up once per semester. Afterwards, guardians can cancel the days the child will not attend, and the drivers always have an overview of who is to be picked up where. At the same time, KGB expanded the service to also drive the students back to the schools after dancing.
“Most children live near their school and can walk home from there. We reduce both the time crunch for families and the number of cars driving to and from. Good for families, good for the environment,” smiles Siri.
This autumn, 57 students are registered.
“The transportation service allows us to include students from more schools. At the same time, we utilize our facilities and resources better. It’s a win-win situation: more children get a good activity offer after school, while it also provides a better operational basis for KGB's After School project,” says Siri.
“For me, transportation was something completely new, and I was excited about how we would organize it. It has been valuable to have Nimmo on the team, both at the start and when challenges have arisen along the way. I am very satisfied with the collaboration,” she concludes.
