Lier municipality is doing something new. They will operate the municipal transport entirely themselves, instead of outsourcing it to an external transport provider or letting the county PTA handle it.
This means that everything from school transport and TT transport to senior transport and activity transport will be gathered under the municipality's own control. To coordinate all of this across services and user groups, Lier will use Nimmo as a platform.
When a municipality has full oversight of its transport, entirely new opportunities open up. Lier is already looking at how they can develop new transport services in the long term, now that they are managing everything themselves.
What we find most interesting is that Lier believes they will save money by organizing transport in this way.
For us at Nimmo, this is a project we are really looking forward to. Lier shows a willingness to think innovatively about municipal transport, and we are proud to be the tool they use to make it happen.
