Nimmo, originally called “Snarlig,” was created in 2020 in Molde by founders Eirik Sandøy Aa and Vebjørn Heggdal at the technology company Nivero AS. Vebjørn and Eirik were both parents of young children with a hectic work life and a family life with active kids that required a lot of logistics and driving.
One day, they were observing the buses passing by the office and wondered about how few passengers were travelling on each bus. Both had extensive experience in technology and software development, and slowly but surely, the idea of developing a system that could make shared transport smarter and simultaneously help solve everyday logistics for many families emerged.
Nimmo AS was officially established in the fall of 2022. With user-friendly, thoroughly tested solutions and three successful pilots with over 3000 customer trips in Molde, Ålesund, and Trondheim, Nimmo has developed a unique platform for shared transport that can contribute to inclusion and more sustainable communities. In August 2025, the first customer began using Nimmo, and the Nimmo family is growing steadily. In the coming years, Nimmo aims to become "world-famous" in Norway and then offer Nimmo to users in other countries.
