The economic situation in the county administrations and PTAs means that public transport is being reduced in many places. At the same time, the need for more tailored transport is increasing, and the population has expectations for more flexible transport solutions - also outside the public transport offerings.
The good news is that these new needs and expectations create room for entirely new business areas for operators in the transport industry. New technology and new solutions make it possible to organize and coordinate shared transport across different needs. This enables carriers to expand their service offerings, take on new roles, and at the same time contribute to social sustainability in the local community.
The digital Nimmo platform makes planning, booking, and executing shared transport easier, and when this is combined with people who dare to think differently and challenge their own models, value is created.
One of the places where this has worked particularly well is at KGB dance & ballet in Bærum. The dance school has chosen to use the Nimmo platform to offer transport to and from the dance school for students in its “after school” program, and partnered with the transport provider TK Bussreiser.
From day one, TK Bussreiser has been the key to the success of the transport arrangement. They have been willing to adopt a new system and test new working methods, and they have provided us with valuable feedback. All to improve the solution for the carrier, activity provider, and passengers.
TK Bussreiser has delivered an incredibly good service to KGB dance & ballet, the parents, and the children, and one of the parents recently gave us this feedback: “Wilma talks about very nice bus drivers :)”
Last week we had a summary of how the collaboration with KGB dance & ballet has been so far, and how they experienced using the Nimmo platform. Petter Holstad, traffic manager at TK Bussreiser, stated the following:
“Nimmo allows the drivers to easily get the overview they need of the trips, the students, and the passengers, exactly when they need it. We no longer have to keep track of paper lists that need to be printed and updated, which both reduces administration and simplifies the handling of privacy.”
The quote emphasizes how technology can provide structure and predictability, while the drivers have more time for what matters most: taking care of the passengers.
We believe the time has come to explore new opportunities in transport, and we want to do it together with the industry. For operators who are forward-thinking and open to new possibilities, the Nimmo platform can be the gateway to an expanded service offering and new revenues.
Are you a transport provider who wants to be at the forefront of development? We would be happy to have an informal chat.
